The iSchool Movement (Information Schools Movement) took its origin at thebeginning of the twenty-first century, which advocates the interdisciplinary observation ofrelations among information, technology and human beings and is devoted to learning,understanding and promoting the utility of information in human activities. With theplanning proposed by MBS, the iSchool Movement is especially further recognized by thesociety and the public, advanced and strengthened. Its scale is enlarged from the seveninitiative schools to fifty-two formal members at present, including InformationManagement College in Wuhan University and Information Management College inNanking University in China, covering global major countries. The development ofInformation Management Specialty is driven towards humanization by the interdisciplinaryand multi-perspective concept, with disciplines and subjective areas integrated into ofcognitive psychology, pedagogy, computer technology, space design, architecture design,human-computer interaction, graphical tools and so on. Meanwhile, informationarchitecture and information interaction gradually occupy the core of InformationManagement Specialty education in iSchool association. So far, some achievements havebeen gained in terms of Information Management Specialty education in China. However,little research has been conducted on Information Management Specialty educationlocating its core at information architecture and information interaction. Even educationalresearch on information architecture or information interaction is rare. For the previousreasons, the new positioning of the development of Information Management Specialty iscomprehensively analyzed and summarized in aspects of education facilities, objective oftalents cultivation, and curriculum provision and so on with research samples fromiSchools in the United States based on combing through development course ofInformation Management Specialty in the context of the iSchool Movement. On that basis,conditions of Information Management Specialty setting are analyzed and suggestions are proposed. Based on the theoretical analysis, talents recruitment information are selectedrelating to information architecture and information interaction on typical job-huntingwebsites and actual market demands for relevant professions are discussed with anempirical analysis, so as to make an effective proposal on development course ofInformation Management Specialty in China, promote the progress of relevant educationand occupations and fulfill the social demands for the talents.
