On The Cultivation Of Contemporary University Students Socialism Core Values

At18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Comrade Hu Jintao first presented the socialist core values, which include national goals of prosperity, democracy, civility, and harmony; social goals of freedom, equality, justice and the rule of law; and individual values of patriotism, dedication, integrity, and friendship. People from various fields should be mobilized to foster and practice core socialist values. College students are our motherland great white hope for the future and the important force in realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation. In the social transformation time, college students lack of ideals, conviction and honesty and credit an issue that worth studying and probing seriously. Cultivating and practicing core socialist values should be incorporated into China’s overall national education plan, enabling everyone to understand and uphold the values and practice them consciously.This thesis consists four chapters. In chapter one, the background and significance of the research are introduced at first. The status of the research is summarized and the major coverage, basic framework, methodology of the research are introduced also.The second chapter summarizes interrelated theories of the socialist core values. The concept of values, core values and socialist core values are defined respectively and their characteristics are analyzed.In chapter three, the causes of college students lack of socialist core values are elaborated. In this paper, an investigation is conducted to research socialist core values of college students by questionnaires. Analysis for the result of the survey is conducted from respect of patriotism, dedication, integrity, and friendship. Besides this, the causes of socialist core values of shortage college students is explored in detail.In chapter four, the sustainable strategies on cultivating and practicing core socialist values is proposed in respect of society, family, school and individual, only by doing so can we transfer the values into social group consciousness and conscious action.
