IFF system refers to the identification of friend or foe of targets on the battle. In modern warfare, modern electronic warfare and information warfare has the characteristics of the suddenness, rapidity, short duration. Meanwhile, the application of a large number of mass destruction, strong mobility, ranged attack and presion-guided weapons require a fast, accurate and reliable identification in order to avoid friendly fire. Identification Friend or Foe is an important means of military confrontation in modern military information battlefield, meanwhile a vital topic of the world military research. The work of this paper is:First, the virgin and development of IFF system is introduced, meanwhile, composition and working principle of IFF system is represented; Second, we analyze and simulate the key technology and latest work mode and give its performance curve. Then design and development of simulation software, IFF system is divided into module by its function. We describe the data structure design and working process in detail and develop the simulation software of IFF system with C++language in Visual Studio2008platform. Finally, software test, the results show that IFF system simulation software can support1、2、3/A、B、C、S and Mode5working mode and has the function of Side Lobe Suppresion and extrapolation and process100targets.The main contribution of this paper is the simulation and analysis of key technology and latest working mode. Meanwhile, IFF system simulation software is developed, and it can visually and graphically represent working principle and process of IFF system and facilitate project researcher to analyze IFF system.
