| With the rapid development of the city’s economy, a variety of large-scale shopping mallsspring up in the city. However, the traditional mall navigation and shopping guide serviceare not satisfied. Additionally the traditional GPS navigation is out of service in this indoorenvironment, which led to people easily get lost in the mall. This thesis derives from the Wal-Mart mobile popularization project, aimed at thedifficulty of the mall navigation and shopping guide, this thesis designs a mall navigationshopping guide system of Wi-Fi-based positioning technology. This system provides notonly the traditional shopping guide service, but also the positioning and navigation serviceby using the Wi-Fi hotspots in the malls. The system consists of an Android-based clientand a Java-based server. The main work of this thesis focus on the server part, it consists ofseveral modules, such as indoor positioning and navigation, shopping guide and so on. Thepositioning and navigation module is responsible for indoor positioning and navigation. The positioning service is based on location fingerprinting, which collects the Wi-Fi signalscaned by mobile client, looks for the most similar sample in the pre-established samplelibrary, and finally estimate user’s position via matching algorithm. The navigation serviceuses pre-collected map data to calculate a path between the customer and his destination. The shopping guide service provides convenience for the customers finding shops or salespromotion. In addition, this system provides a channel for merchants to post theiradvertisements to attract users’ attention.A prototype version of this system has been implemented by Java Play framework and ithas successfully passed the test in the simulated mall environment. This system has already met the initial requirements, which is a practice for indoor positioning and navigationtechnology in the area of mall navigation and shopping guide application. |
