Nowadays, with the rapid development of informantion technology, short distancewireless communication technology has been advancing at a fast speed. ZigBee, as one ofthe short distance communication technology, has been applied in various fields, such asindustry, agriculture, militant service, medical care, etc., mainly due to its low-energyconsumption, low cost, low low-bitrate, low complexity and short-time delay. From all itscharacteristics, ZigBee technology is characterized by low-energy consumption and itslimited power on the nodes. Therefore, the study of ZigBee has been mainly concentratedon the characteristics of the nodes, how to extend the survival time on the nodes, how toextend the life circle of the whole network. The thesis, has proposed a revised calculatingalgorithm based on the previous ones, in order to make up for the insufficiency of theoriginal algorithm of the large capacity ZigBee network ZBR.Firstly, the author made an overview of the protocol stack, its technical features andcharacteristics of the network, based on the basic attributes of ZigBee technology, andelaborated on the AODVjr routing algorithm and Cluster-Tree routing algorithm.Through the above steps, the author made an analysis on the original algorithm and hasfound out its drawbacks. Besides, a revision on the thresh hold value has been carried outaccording to the problems drawn from the different effects exerted byRN+nodes and RN-node ratio different networks. Next, considering the neighbor list usage, an improvementin the maximum transmission hop was made in accordance with the existing redundancyRREQ packet.Secondly, in order to better achieve an energy use equilibrium of the whole ZigBeenetwork nodes, and to extend its lifetime, an improved router algorithm has been proposedconsidering the current imperfect algorithm, different routines, different time delay, different surplus energy grade consumption existing from nodes to target nodes, its rolesin different routines as well as its different residual energy level. Finally, through the application of OMNeT++simulation platform, an simulation isdone on the improved algorithm and to make up for the insufficiency of revision. The results show that an combined use of the improvement and the algorithm proposed in thethesis can extent a node’s survival time, and the lifetime circle of networks, all of whichwill be favorable in project engineering.
