Mass media in our country have set a good example in popularizing the mandarin, spreading normative words and improving the standardization for many years. The newspapers and periodicals language is practitioner and creator in standardized language. It is also the touchstones of the new language. In the standardization process of the language, the function of the newspapers and periodicals language is quite obvious. The newspapers and periodicals language guides the trends of mass, and also standardizes the terms of mass. It is significant to study systematically the language in newspapers and periodicals and language standardization and its value.The thesis focuses on five aspects on newspapers and periodicals language and language standardization study. The introduction summarizes the studies of the current situation and reveals the collected corpus and methods employed in the thesis. To strengthen the norm to the newspapers and periodicals language is the necessary way to promoting the research of the language standardization, the course of languages’ modernization and national language planning.
