With the rapid development of modern electronic technology, wirelesscommunication has been widely used in the field of communication, computer,automatic control, etc. Frequency synthesizer is a key component of modern electronicsystems and plays a very important role. The development of modern electronic systemsis also increasing demands of of the frequency synthesizer’s performance.The basic methods of frequency syntheisis are generally divided into directfrequency synthesis, Phase Locked Loop (PLL) based indrect frequency synthesis andDigital Direct Synthesis (DDS). Combing more than one methods together, hybridfrequency synthesis can take advantage of DDS and PLL to provide signal with excellentperformance on high frequency resolution and low phase noise simutaneously at highfrequency. The spurious suppression performance of DDS become the bottleneck to limitthe development of hybrid synthesis and array hybrid frequency synthesizer can achievegood spectrum performance.In this thesis, some DDS spurious suppression methods are given based onfrequency synthesis theory. After being introduced and simulated by Matlab, ditherinjection technology is implemented using FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array).Secondly, a non-phase truncation spurious DDS structure is implemented by hardwarecirciut after the principle of the structure has been discussed in detail. Then themeasurement result of hardware circuit is given and analysed.Finally, the parallel DDS structure that can reduce uncorrelated phase noise isanalysed in theory and proved by Matlab, which all are the preparation of follow-up arrayhybrid frequency synthesizer.
