With the increase of cars, how to improve safety and reduce the trafficaccidents has become a topic of common concern in the whole society. Automotivecollision avoidance radar is one of the effective measures to improve the trafficsafety, so more and more researches on automotive collision avoidance radartechnology are taken seriously.This paper describes an automotive anti-collision radar system based onFMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) technology, and studies the keytechniques of software and hardware of FMCW radar automobile anti-collisionsystem. Firstly, this paper introduces the basic structure, ranging and speedmeasuring principle of FMCW radar as well as the technical specifications of theradar system. Secondly elaborates the working principle of IVS-162radar sensor,whose modulation voltage is designed and simulated. Then we give theimplementation scheme of the difference frequency signal amplifier circuit ofsensor output. In addition, this paper shows another scheme that can achieve signalfiltering, amplifying and A/D conversion by using MAX11043chip, for therequirements of miniaturization and cost savings in FMCW automotiveanti-collision radar system.After the triangle wave linear frequency modulation continuous wave signalof automotive anti-collision radar being analyzed, a given distance and velocitymeasured target has been carried on the simulation analysis. This paper selectsTMS320VC5510as a digital signal processor, designs and simulates the FIR filterby using CCS software and MATLAB auxiliary software. Due to FFT spectrumestimation precision affected by frequency of quantitative, spectrum estimationwith FFT directly cannot meet the accuracy requirement of the automotiveanti-collision radar system, this paper gets the rough range of FMCW radardifference frequency signal spectrum peak based on FFT algorithm simulation, andprocesses frequency spectrum refinement for this range of the signal by Chirp ztransform, so as to improve the ranging precision. Finally by the simulationanalysis, this paper verifies that FFT/CZT algorithm is superior to the traditionalFFT algorithm on improving the ranging precision.
