Key Technology Research For On-line Chinese Pinyin Handwriting Teaching

Pinyin teaching is basic for the Chinese language teaching and the teaching ofChinese as a Foreign Language. And the basic requirement is writing can be neat andstandardized. The common problem of the methods and tools for Pinyin teaching is toignore the free-style teaching of Pinyin writing. With the popularity of touch screenproducts and the improvement of touch technology, electronic and intelligent writing onteaching becomes a new trend of development. To establish a writing&teaching systembase on touch screen to replace the traditional relationship between teachers and studentsis very sense of reality application, which can solve the problem that writing practice isinfluenced by the time, place, teachers and other factors.Pinyin writing teaching is a branch of writing teaching system in a text, which baseon key technologies, such as the writing process modeling, the pre-processing of thehandwriting information in touch-screen, the construction and management of theknowledge database, the interaction structure of the simulation paper exercise books, andthe real-time tracking and analysis in writing process. This paper involves followingpoints: pre-processing of touch handwriting information, pinyin writing structure and thereal-time tracking and analysis in Pinyin writing process.In the pre-processing, for non-standard writing behavior, touch writing noise isdivided into white, black and shake. The corresponding processing methods include linearinterpolation to eliminate white noise, threshold duplicate remove to eliminate blacknoise, and virtual smooth base on key point calculation to eliminate shake noise. Thereal-time tracking analysis in writing process is based on the writing process descriptor,using exclusion to analysis direction and structure of user’s written stroke, the relationshipbetween strokes, and the tone and the standard tuning, thus give the guidance timely.The innovative content of this article are as follows:First, the pre-processing of the handwriting information described in this article isdifferent from the pre-processing of online handwritten pattern recognition, we take theprocess to smooth touch handwriting information virtually under the premise ofmaintaining the real structure of the handwriting.Second according to writing rules and structural characteristics of pinyin, weestablish writing process descriptor from the point of tracking.Third, design the algorithm which can track user’s written strokes, the relationship between strokes, and the tone marking, and give guidance timely, so that, it can correctthe non-standard writing behavior of users.The experimental results show that the information of handwriting on touch screenwhich has been preprocessed can provide a real and valid data environment for writingguidance. Base on writing process descriptor, it can achieve online writing teachingpurpose through tracking the stroke, stroke position and tone, and give an effectiveguidance in time.
