With the rapid development of science and technology, the embedded systemhas been widely used in various industries, such as industrial control, navigationequipment, consumer electronics, handheld devices, network equipment. One of themost important application of the embedded system is the video monitoringsystem.Because of the video monitoring system has intuitive, convenience, and manyother advantages,it is widely used in safety guard system. Embedded videomonitoring system is able to use integrated circuit and the Internet and otheremerging technologies, making the monitoring production smaller, more convenientcommunication and more stable performance, etc.This study is to develop a network video acquisition system based on embeddedLinux system. The system is composed of USB camera image acquisition module,network transmission module and LCD display module three modules. The systemuses TQ2440development board to Samsung Corp S3C2440ARM9core processorbased as the hardware development platform, using Vimicro ZC301chipset USBcamera as a video capture module, the collected video content in LCD developmentplatform is shown on the screen, and the video data through the network transmissionthrough the network transmission module, the PC client can pass through the IPaddress of the development board to read the display of video data.In the image acquisition module, operation the USB camera is using of V4L2interface provided by Linux system, including open, closed, data collection and otherrelated operations. In the network transmission module, using the socket networkprogramming,and the video data collected is sent over the network. LCD displaymodule use the QT library and libjpeg library provides the interface to compress theoriginal data collected, and display the compressed data. Design of LCD userinterface on the development board use the QT library provides interface to provideusers with relative humanized operation interface.Compared with the traditional video acquisition system, this system has the following advantages: the hardware circuit is relatively simple, small volume,collection is faster, smaller memory footprint, system operation is stable and reliable,convenient installation, low overall cost. The system can be widely used in manyfields of remote monitoring, intelligent home furnishing, industrial control and so on,has the broad application prospect and market. The system can be used as the basis ofdevelopment platform. Through the improvement of its function,it can be furtherdevelop. In the network transmission level, you can use the wireless transmissiontechnology, such as WIFI, GPRS,3G network, and will further improve itsportability.
