| Just as its name implies, Microwave landing system(MLS) is a Near-Earth landing system. The pilot operates the aircraft landing with the data send by the Airborne equipment. Azimuth station is an important part of the MLS which provides the angle information of the flight deviated from its usual flight path. The traditional MLS’s Azimuth station has bulky antenna design and fixed installation which is inconvenient for modern aviation and military. The main concern in this paper is lighter and miniaturization of the MLS Azimuth station.Because of the huge volume and heavy design problem, this paper designs the C band strip-line coupling patch antennas and power dividers. While meeting the requirement of the MLS, this design takes the best efforts to make the antenna miniature. The main research and innovation of this paper are as follows:1.Analyzes the antenna array through Taylor synthesis method according to the technical requirements.2.According to the design requirement of the width of the vertical main lobe, The DFP-BFGS Algorithm and Orchard-Elliott Algorithm are adopted to optimize the design, Choosing the better one to design the antenna by Comparing these two algorithm.3.Reduce the number of antenna array elements while keeping the width of the shape-beam. This line array has reduced six units compared with previous system.4.Analysis the antenna array and select the appropriate form of power dividers. The column feeding network uses the Wilkinson power dividers without isolation resistance, the size is reduced somewhat compared with the Wilkinson power dividers with isolation resistance.Considering the match problem, the line feeding network takes the form of Wilkinson power dividers with isolation resistance.5.By connecting the Wilkinson power dividers without the isolation resistance to the antenna, we successfully realizes the unit and reduces the entire size. This paper designs an16×32antenna array, and those all above have been simulated and validated by electromagnetism simulation software, the overall results of the simulation meets the target requirement. By testing the manufactured shaped linear array antenna and the power dividers with the isolation resistance, the measured results mostly agree with the simulation data. |
