With the rapid growth in the scale of ASIC design, the resources consumed ofASIC verification are also rapidly increasing. How to effectively verify the functionalityof ASIC has become the key to restricting its development. Based on the fields ofASIC-owned and verification levels, functional verification methods and verificationeffect are different. Consequently, according to the different features of ASIC drawingup verification strategies and programs play a very important role in improving theefficiency of ASIC verification.The FC protocol chip which uses a Fibre Channel technology is the aviation buscommunication chip, the chip is mainly used in the field of military aviation aircraftcontrol, instrumentation and data acquisition, data distribution, and sensor signal/videosignal transmission. What is more, the main functional features of the chip are real-timeexecution data transmission of the PON optical network point-to-point,point-to-multipoint tasks. Consequently, the chip functional verification include: first,the chip internal module functional of data processing and transmission; the second,data transfer function of PON optical network in a multi-node; the third, verify theperformance of the PON optical network communication system which is made up ofthe FC chips. The main task of the subject, according to FC protocol chip features, is toexplore the functional verification of the chip and complete the verification task. Thefollowing are the main research work.1. Based on verification requests of the FC protocol chip, the paper analyzes theinternal structure and features of the chip. With reference to level verification strategy ofthe chip, through the different programs discussed, which determine the implementationprogram which is combinations of simulation method and FPGA prototypingverification method.2. In view of the need to verify the internal module level functions and networktransport level functions, the paper propose functional simulation method which basedon RTL-level networking features and elaborate the principle of the method. Besides,and the author build the chip verification platform and complete chip verification task. 3. Taking into account the software simulation can not accurately imitate the actualhardware environment of the PON optical network, the author study the FPGAprototyping technology and expound design conversion from ASIC design to the FPGAprototyping design often encountered difficulties and challenges. The paper givessolutions and builds the chip FPGA prototyping platform to verify the chip functionalityand performance.4. After the ASIC tape-out, based on the chip features and test requirements, thepaper uses the mother board design ideas to build the chip hardware platform. Besides,the author gives the functional test program and completes the chip test tasks. |
