As people’s life quality has experiencing a continuous improvement, the demandon the the existing audio and video system grows day by day, the previous2D videotechnology can’t meet the people’s visual needs.3D audio and video technology aroseas the time required. Along with the widely application of3D technologies in variousindustries, it is no more an exotica to the public and has been accepted as well. However,the popular3D stereoscopic display technology still fails to enable us getting rid of theglasses, which reduces its application and degrads the level of comfort. Besides, certain3D techs will lead to the audiences’ feeling of nausea and dizziness after a long-timeexperiencing. Therefore the naked eye3D technology is an urgent task. Currently, theopen Android mobile platform system, which has rapidly expanded, is attracting a vastpopulation of potential users. Thus, undoubtedly, design and development of naked3Dtechnology should give priority to Android platform. In the process of designing nakedeye3D player, Android platform is keeping great comparative advantages among allother platforms. Meanwhile, it has better promotion prospects and more commercialvalue.This thesis is focused on a project of3D player development which based onAndroid platform, illustrating the design and implementation process of the mainfunctions. The practices involved in this thesis including a redevelopment on Androidplatform according to the specific design provided by the partner company. Then avideo player, which is with all the basic functions as the ordinary players do and will beable to play normal2D videos, will be the product of this redevelopment. Moreover, inorder to achieve the naked eye3D effect, this player could also play with five differentparallax2D video sources, and the fusion function module will inspect special rasterdisplay output to image fusion after fusing the parallactic images. In this design andimplementing phase, a great deal of key technologies from Android applicationdevelopment have been employed, including a variety of text and image display,interactive menu, XML parsing technology, and OpenCV video image processingsolutions. By employing these key technologies, the design plan was eventually finished. This player is not only equipped with all the basic functions like a volume control andvideo fast forward, it could also achieve3D effects by fusing and playing video sourcesin different parallax through some particular formulas. The designation of the player isdivided into two parts, the design and implementation of the player’s interface, and therealization of the parallax image fusion module. The design of the player’s interface willbe introduced in Chapter4, related mainly to Android animation and XML file parsingtechnologies, as well as the control display technology; Chapter5will introduce thefusion and display function of parallax images, which related to Opencv technologies.The designation of this player is based on Android system, so it will be with highpopularity in Android system. After some updates and optimizations, it could be widelyapplied in areas where3D display is needed, for instance, cineplex and out-door videocommercials.
