The WLAN System is convenient for use and easy for installation. WLAN device transmits signal through the air, which is prone to being caught if the system’s security capacity is low. Attacks on WLAN system come in different forms. The attack that is hard to prevention is the Man-In-The-Middle attack, which is created by communication devices to forge the WLAN signal to deceive users to send username and password to their own devices. The high security system that uses RSNA technologies by the IEEE802.11i standard is used in improving the WLAN system by developing the IEEE802.1x standard that applies EAP Protocol. The system transmits the user data to the RADIUS Server whose function is to do the examination, determine the rights and collect data according to the structure of the AAA Server. But the use of this system is not suitable with small organizations that have to bear higher costs. In the first stage, this thesis studies and designs the application of a system of high security to suit small organizations by installing RADIUS in the Wireless Access Point. In the second stage, the analysis chooses the device Wireless Access Point Cisco-Linksys WRT54GL v1.1, which can be installed with Firmware developed by Linux Kernel. The Firmware is cheap and available. The analysis studies the application of Openwrt firmware developed by Linux Kernel, which is suitable for small devices with low processing capacity and has lots of software packages. In the third stage, the Openwrt Firmware was installed in the Linksys WRT54GL v1.1and FreeRADIUS Software Package to act as RADIUS Server. Later, a study was made on the efficiency of the system with EAP Protocol and the authentication with RSA algorithm and ECC algorithm was applied to suit the low processing systems. Finally, the analysis finds that the installation of the RADIUS Server system in the device with a low processing capacity, the application of self-authentication with ECC algorithm can reduce the time connection between client and server by55%compared with RSA algorithm.
