With the development of MEMS technology, MEMS gyroscopes are widely used in many fields. This paper takes ADXRS646for example and conducts a series of applied researches.Firstly, the paper analyses the error sources of MEMS gyroscopes before understanding the principle of MEMS gyroscopes. Secondly, the paper designs the hardware circuit system and the software program. The hardware circuit system consists of TMS320F2812core system, ADXRS646application circuit, amplification circuit, Analog‐to‐Digital conversion circuit and communication circuit with the host computer. The software program mainly contains DSP system initialization, the Analog‐to‐Digital conversion and communication program with the host computer. Lastly, after completion of the system design, it needs to debug to make the system work properly.After analyzing the errors sources of MEMS gyroscopes, we find it is mainly composed of three parts, the systematic error, random error and temperature error. Each of these three errors was compensated with different measures. System error: use the comparison method, correct the zero bias and scale factor of MEMS gyroscopes by comparing the output of MEMS gyroscope and fiber optic gyroscopes. Random error: use FIR low‐pass filter to filter out the high frequency noise signal and weaken the influence of random error. Temperature error: use single‐point calibration method or three‐point calibration method by depending on the working environment. By using the three compensation methods, the output accuracy of MEMS gyroscope is improved and satisfies the needs of design.
