EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) is a new type of optical fiber access networktechnology, which uses the structure of point-to-multipoint and passive optical networktransmission, to provide multiple services over Ethernet. It combines the advantages of PONtechnology and Ethernet technology, within its features of high bandwidth, low cost, easy touse and easy to upgrade to become the best choice of optical access network. EPON is as theaccess network, directly facing the terminal user; its performance will directly influence thequality of network service. Therefore the development of a high reliable performancemanagement system for monitoring and management of EPON network is particularly veryimportant.With the traditional C/S network management, network management operation ingeographically confined management workstation and network management system dependson the system platform, which makes the traditional network management system in the faceof increasingly strong heterogeneous computer network performance not be. At present, withthe development of Web technology, network management based on Web emerges as thetimes require.J2EE technology is widely used in application system based on Web. SSH(Struts+Spring+Hibernate) framework which is the open source framework of the lightweight,known as the "golden combination", realize the separation of presentation layer, businesslayer and data layer, scalable, strong flexibility and portability features.To solve the problem that portability and load capacity of the network managementsystem based on C/S model, a kind of EPON network performance management system basedon Web was designed and implemented. The network performance data is collected andanalyze to provide statistic proof for further planning and adjustment of the network,so thatthe network service quality become better. The system used SNMP4J library to developunderlying application, adopted SSH framework based on MVC model to realize separation of user interface, application business logic and data access logic, and realized the function ofthe system related performance parameters of the acquisition and statistical analysis anddisplay. At the same time, the BP neural network containing Momentum factor is used topredict the network. It’s indicated that the EPON network performance network becomeintelligent. The test results indicate that performance alarm reporting delay and singleoperation response time of the system are less than the “China Telecom mobile servicenetwork management system norms-total volume (v1.1)” standards.
