In China, the aging of the population becomes one of the most prominent socialproblems, while older age groups and the media also contributed to the study of these twostepwise in-depth.Firstly, by summarizing the relevant research results, the article pointed out differencesbetween domestic and foreign as well as the problems in domestic research. Reflected thatthe current development of media is out of touch with the needs of older users, and"integration of three networks" promotion still exists obstacles. Based on this study,thearticle presented some method of study and corroborated them.Then, based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs grading theory, did the detailed discussionfor survey program, including the analysis to the feasibility of empirical investigation, thestructural design of the questionnaire, as well as specific issues options. After this, thearticle explained the scope of the sample survey and the sample selection case, stated theimplementation of the entire investigation process, and summarized sample recovery anddata statistics.After that, the article analysed the basic situation of the older age groups, made ahorizontal comparison to the users of different media. Then made a detailed description ofthe specific use among older age groups for digital television, mobile phones and theinternet. For these new media services, the article launched a variety of analysis anddiscussion about the elderly population’s preference, attitudes and needs. Finallydemonstrated the correlation between demographic characteristics of older users and mediausage behavior.Based on the "uses and gratifications" theory and the "digital divide" theory summary,the article deduced the influence factor of the behavior in various types of media use, anddid the verification of the previous studies. Then discussed the specific content of thepersonal factors, social factors and media factors. Focus on the specific effect to older users.Finally, by analyzed and summarized the experience of foreign media development,the article provided reference for the development of new media in the process of "integration of three networks". Relying on the analysis of the factors affecting media use,and the empirical analysis of survey data, the article proposed development strategiesbetween new media and the older age groups combined with the current background ofaging society. Through a series of empirical investigation of this paper, the article explored thebehavior of older users in using digital television, internet and mobile phone, analyzed themain factors affecting their usage behavior and satisfaction. And explored the relationshipbetween supply and demand in older users and three media, proposed some developmentproposals for new media to "facilitate the elderly". These issues have important significancefor exploring new media development prospects and achieving healthy aging.
