The size of the optical system directly affects the resolution of the optical system,since the1980s, the country with developed capabilities of large aperture optical systemhave invested a lot of manpower and material resources. In recent years, large apertureoptical systems in the military field, the field of aerospace and other fields have beenwidely used. Therefore, the detection of large aperture optical system have greatsignificance.In this paper, a new measurement solutions to MTF measurements of the largeaperture optical system is used, the basic idea is to design a synthetic aperturemeasurement system to measure MTF of the large aperture optical system, the syntheticaperture measurement system must have feasibility, and the theoretical relationship ofMTF between the synthetic aperture measurement system and the large aperture opticalsystem can be calculated. MTF of the large aperture optical system can be calculated bymeasuring the number of parts of the large aperture optical system repeatedly.The key is to combine the diameter of the large aperture optical system to design thestructure of the synthetic aperture measurement system. In this paper, designing thesynthetic aperture measurement system through the theoretical analysis and matlabsoftware for numerical analysis primarily, it finally determine a kind of structure ofRing5by calculated repeatedly.After the structure is determined, this paper analyzes three errors may occur in themeasurement process, three errors are the position error, the tilt error and the axial error,and it clearly understood the impact of these three errors on the measurement results.Finally, this paper designed a large aperture optical system with4m diameter, toresearch measurement method of the optical system with aberration. Calculating therelationship of MTF between large aperture optical systems and synthetic aperture.Analysis shows that the proportional relationship of MTF between the syntheticaperture measurement system and the large aperture optical system change withaberration, it’s proportional relationship is very different from the case withoutaberration. Therefore, MTF of the large aperture optical system with aberration cancalculate through method of wavefront fitting.
