Virtual reality is an advanced technology emergences in recent years, using thecomputer to produce a three-dimensional virtual world, which provide users sensorysimulation such as: visual, hearing, touch, etc. Users drive and train in the3d virtualworld as they drive and train in the real world. So this technology has been widely usedin commercial, military training, sudden and uncertainty event field (such as the sceneof the accident reproduction, fire disaster relief simulation, aerospace, etc).This paper comprehensive use the software of Vega Prime, Visual Studio, on thebasis of three-dimensional modeling of Nanchang HangKong University campus,built avirtual campus roaming system.The main research works are as follows:1、Virtual campus roaming system based on the MFC and Vega Prime is built withthe use of the software of Vega Prime, Visual Studio, on the basis of three-dimensionalmodeling of Nanchang HangKong University campus with the use of MultiGen Creator.2、The database of virtual campus roaming system is designed, including eachdepartment of university and various institute, which facilitate users the inquires andunderstanding of the school.3、The key technologies of virtual simulation technology are researched: roamingtechnology, collision detection technology, environment rendering technology, etc;Three kinds of roaming mode in the virtual campus roaming system are realized: walkroaming, driving roaming, fixed path roaming; collision detection is added in drivingmode, rain, snow, wind and other model are added in virtual campus roaming system;building query function is completed; when the user clicks on the building, college,teaching and administrative staff, the related information are displayed and the relatedspeech is heard; the college, staff, students’ attributes can be added and its relevantinformation can be modified for the system. The flexibility, immersive, interactivity ofthe system are greatly improved with the completed of the function above.
