Therefore, a strict and hierarchicalmanagement system will not only help administrators to manage the hoggery,and integrate all of the resources, it can also regulate cultivationprocesses, play a guiding role.n this paper our goal is taking a software system on small or medium scalehoggery management, it tries to researching how to use softwareformalization methods with software engineering theory in the softwaredevelopment process, and through the use of typical formal modelingprocedure of complex field to build a complete, clear and explicitknowledge system for the management software development to provide asolid strong domain knowledge basis.The concrete work of this paper has the following specific steps:1. To build the small or medium scale hoggery management domain knowledgemodel.Small or medium scale hoggery management including personnel management,equipment management, building management, production management and hogmanagement, and so on. The hog management should be in line with pigproduction science and the pig growth law of the objective. This meansthat through the application field of knowledge representation of the current mainstream formal modeling method, ontology, this paper takesuse of OWL-DL language, on the protégé platform for small or medium scalehoggery management in the field modeling knowledge, construct therelevant domain ontology.2. In the domain model driven by a design and implementation of smallor medium scale hoggery management system, the feasibility of the methodis validated.This paper explores a kind of method which about ontology driven softwaredevelopment. Through the application of small or medium scale hoggerymanagement domain ontology library, guide the software requirementsanalysis, system design and implementation, and so on. It can analysisand find out the problem which is faced by softerware users on theequirements, and determine the ontology of the hoggery with functionalrequirements; it abstracts database conceptual model from the ontologyin system design phase; and in implementation application phase that usesthe abstracted database conceptual model to design and implementation ofsome database tables, and early formal description of functionalrequirements of targeted specific code realization.In this paper it explore the method of the ontology driven softwaredevelopment, and it guides the software development between ontologydriven by constructing the domain knowledge model, and explore a softwaredevelopment method that is based of ontology. Although there will be someomissions and immature place in the method, but it will be a useful attemptwhich bring the ontology into the software development in the daysontology should be used more and more ofen.
