The fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) is a new type of optical velocity sensor based on theSagnac effect, with its superior performance and characteristics of widely used in defense andother areas. In a large-scale project, FOG is not just a single individual, the reliability ofperformance directly affects the reliability of the whole system, the most direct manifestationis that the purchasers often require to understanding the reliability of the FOG and often putthe requirement forward reliability of the FOG. This requires FOG reliability analysis andtesting to obtain reliability index.Light source is one of the key components in the FOG, its reliability effects directly onthe reliability of the fiber optic gyroscope, the reliability of the light source can also use thekey device conversion method to assess the reliability of the FOG. This paper uses three kindsof reliability analysis method to assess and analysis the reliability of erbium-doped fiber laser,which is used in marine triaxial FOG, the main work of the paper is as follows:In chapter3, we studied and analyzed the reliability of the erbium-doped fiber laserbased on the fault tree analysis and analyze the performance of the erbium-doped fiber laser.According to the structure and use of the erbium-doped fiber laser, we analyzed failure andfailure mechanism of erbium-doped fiber laser. When analyzed the erbium-doped fiber laseras a systems point of view, we established the reliability block diagram and fault tree of theerbium-doped fiber laser, gave the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the fault tree, drawnthe erbium-doped fiber laser the underlying failure as well as the reliability function andcurves of the erbium-doped fiber laser.The erbium-doped fiber laser is a series-wound system. Based on the smallest weak linkstheorem, we established reliability model of the erbium-doped fiber laser based on Weibulldistribution model. When got zero-failure data in the timing censored experiment, we assessthe unknown parameters of Weibull distribution model adopted Bayesian principles. At thelast, we came to the reliability model of the erbium-doped fiber laser based on the Weibulldistribution reliability curve.Discussed the theory of reliability evaluation based on performance degradation data,and studied the reliability assessment of the erbium-doped fiber laser based on the driftBrownian motion model and its parameters estimation methods. We established theaccelerating the degradation model of erbium-doped fiber laser to, and estimated the unknownparameters of the accelerating the degradation model. According to the accelerateddegradation test data of the erbium-doped fiber laser, we assessed the unknown parameters of degradation model, got the reliability function and the curve. At the last of paper, we analyzedand compared reliability evaluation based on fault tree analysis, Weibull distribution method,and performance degradation data modeling assessment methods.
