The wireless sensor network (WSN) is a new monitoring network which is an integrationof sensor technology, communications technology, computer technology. The WSN is thecurrent international concern on the forefront of research focus. The WSN is composed by alarge number of sensor nodes, can be real-time perception and acquisition distribution regionmonitoring of the object or the surrounding environment information. In this paper, the designof WSN platform for monitoring of environmental temperature, humidity and light intensity,node localization and voice transmission. The system has broad application prospects in thefamily intelligent monitoring, medical health and other commercial areas.WSN has the features of dense node distribution, strong robustness, self-organization,data-centric etc. As the emergence of wireless LAN and Bluetooth technology, the WSN alsoget tremendous development. However, the modern monitoring network proposed morestringent requirements, cost, power consumption, security. The ZigBee technology came intobeing in this case, its protocol based on the IEEE802.15.4standard, and has low-rate,low-power, low-cost, low-complexity characteristics.In this paper, a low-rate, high fault-tolerant network node hardware and softwareplatforms is builded based on the ZStack protocol stack according to IEEE802.15.4/ZigBeestandard. This paper first discusses the characteristics and applications of WSN, introduce thenetwork protocol of the ZigBee layers, and study the realization of WSN based on ZStackprotocol stack. Then, for solving the weakless of WSN node localization algorithm, this paperpropose the improved trilateral localization algorithm based on received signal strengthindication (RSSI). And the simulation and experimental results show that the anti-interferenceability of the algorithm strong, high positioning accuracy. The platform using CC2530as thecore processor, collects the information of temperature, humidity, light by the sensors. Thesystem achieve real-time collection and transmission functions of the voice signal by applyingAMBE1000to compress voice data. The PC software can display the sensor data collected bythe topology of the network node position and node position. In the end, this paper shows thetest result of the WSN platform and prove that the network data transmission stability,robustness, good voice quality. Its positioning accuracy to meet the application requirements.
