Design And Realization Of Online Examination System

Examination is a very important part of the education. It is the inspection andinvestigation of teaching and learning. Traditional examination needs multiple steps andcomplex preparation, a large investment of time and effort, and it also needs a lot ofpaper and equipment. Traditional test requires a number of steps including setting thepaper, printing, marking and so on. It is unable to meet the needs of the modern exam.Online system also has saved lots of paper and people resource. It is more convenientfor students and teachers, and saves time for them. Online exam is going to be usedmore and more.Currently, the structure of online testing systems are based on C/S (Client/Server)structure and B/S (Browser/Server) structure. System based on B/S structure has noneed to install the client program on the client computer, and it is easier to maintain andupgrade. So in this thesis we selected the B/S structure.Through analyzing the needs of users，the online examination system in this thesisis divided into three subsystems，including register subsystem, management subsystem,online exam subsystem. And the functional design for each module is also proposed inthe thesis.Generating test is very important for online testing system. It is also pivotal tobuild the test item bank. The number of questions should be well situated. The questionswere divided into several classes. We designed the attribute for questions, such as theknowledge point, question type, chapter, hardness and so on. We used the geneticalgorithm to achieve it.In this thesis we complete the online examination system, which is safe and stable.The system is also expandable and practicable, also easy for users to use.
