With the degree of people relying on computers on the rise, however, thetraditional written examination mode used currently has some disadvantages to makethem cumbersome and laborious and have the difficulty of statistical analysis of theresults. The mode has not already been suitable for current actual teaching demands inthe new situation which is especially in modern computer time. To achieve theconvenience of the examination, online examination mode is increasingly applied. Sincethe resources or services providing by online examination system are obtained fromexamination system platforms, the users only need a comparable prefect networkenvironment to accomplish the examination easily. Compared with the traditionalwritten examination way, it has a unique advantage that the examination can be attendedat any time and anywhere.The research efforts focuses on analyzing the constitute, program design andrealization process of online examination system for Dazhou Vocational andTechnology Institute mainly based on the Java Server Pages (JSP) techniques. Thesystem adopts MVC (Model-View-Control) model which is a three-tier structure ofWeb application framework to realize it, namely Java Bean as model, JSP as view, andServlet as controller (C). Thus, the system expandability, maintainability, andcollaboration development by multi-people have been carried out since the logic layer isseparated from the presentation layer in order to enhance the overall performance ofwhole system. In addition, the online examination system exploited the B/S architectureusing merely java language to implement most of functionalities. It was deployed inweb application server--Tomcat which is popularly used so far. Furthermore, sometechniques such as JSP, html are also employed to improve user experience.The thesis firstly presents dynamic pages program development process and somerelated data access techniques. Under the basis of this work, it illustrates subsequentlyonline examination system design plans and implementation measures. Then, thedevelopment tools and some related techniques used by the system are discussed andthe system structure especially how to build a system framework through UMLmodeling is profoundly analyzed. Finally, a web application framework model iscreated in terms of MVC mode, the design ideas of the system is outlined, and some critical technical problems and implementations such as database connection pool,validation data, random combining of examination algorithm, examination papersstorage, disruption recovery etc. are discussed in details. Meanwhile, system securityassures and testing strategies are introduced. Conventionally, the conclusions and futurework are given at the end of the paper.The whole system arrangement is simple and reasonable. The use of the system ismade by organizing online examination conveniently and effectively since it is easy tooperate. In particular, it has a certain degree security assures for the users payingattention to privacy.We have already successfully implemented online examination system which havecomplete functionality, running faster, and low resource overhead characteristics anddeployed in the web server. It is fairly fit to promote the use of the user groups’ collegesand universities. By testing, the preferable results are achieved.
