| ABSTRACT:With the rapid development of mobile internet and intelligent terminal, the mobile data traffic is experiencing an explosive growth. At the same time, indoor hotspots contribute more than80%of traffic to the mobile data. Enormous and uneven-distributed mobile data brings great challenges to the traditional cellular mobile network. The heterogeneous network consists of existing cellular mobile network and low power nodes (such as Wi-Fi, Femto) deployed in indoor hotspots. The heterogeneous network can effectively solve the problem of hotspot network’s lacking in coverage and capacity. This paper researches on heterogeneous network consisting of LTE and Wi-Fi, and focuses on deploying Wi-Fi in indoor area. It analysis the network performance of heterogeneous network consisting of Wi-Fi and cellular mobile network, and Wi-Fi’s impact on the entire network is also researched. The scenario in this paper is established on the actual region covering20km2in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The paper treats the LTE as the basic cellular mobile network, then the Wi-Fi access point deployed in indoor hotspot area and above basic cellular mobile network are combianed to form a heterogeneous network. Research methods are constructing mathematical models of the actual scenarios and networks. Firstly, modeling real scenarios in3D is necessary, Terrain, geological distribution, building and floor height of real scenario. need to be considered in this modeling. Secondly, modeling the real network is required, and it takes into account of BS’s location, height, angle, azimuth Angle, and gain antenna etc. Thirdly, modeling the user density distribution based on actual traffic statistics is necessary. Finally, Wi-Fi access points are deployed in indoor hotspot area based on above modeling, to solve the problem of network’s lacking in coverage and capacity in research area effectively. In order to deploy Wi-Fi sites effectively, a Wi-Fi throughput model, a interference model and a heterogeneous network switching mechanism are established. Besides, two Wi-Fi deployment algorithm which can offload the traffic of cellular mobile network effectively are designed, to reduce the outage probability of the mobile communication network. Furthermore, The performance of the heterogeneous network consisting of LTE and Wi-Fi is analysed, compared with the heterogeneous network consisting of LTE and Femto deployed in indoor hotspot area. The simulation result shows that the heterogeneous network, consisting of Wi-Fi and cellular mobile network, is an effective solution to solve the problem of network’s lacking in capacity and coverage. Wi-Fi can offload large amount of traffic from cellular mobile networks and reduce the outage probability of entire network. |
