| We proposed a way that used all optical fiber CTD system to measure the index of sea water, based on the requirement of fast and accuracy temperature, refractive index and depth measurement in ocean science. The method of enhancing the sensitivity of temperature sensor what is one part of whole CTD system is the key point in this article.Because of the lack of a systematic technological processes involved in the metalizing optical fiber, we form a series of our own process parameters and process via several experiments about the choice of each plating solution.The long period optical fiber grating(LPFG) with particular period is made by using our own optic plate in laboratory. Then we utilized the process parameters and process what we have got in laboratory to metalize the LPFG, which is coated a sliver thin film. The thickness of the sliver thin film is6micrometer. During the experiment we find that the metalized LPFG has two special characters:1) The capability of immune to the change of ambient refractive index, almost get to100%;2) Extremely high sensitivity to the variation of the ambient temperature. |
