The Study Of Chinese Talent Show From The Perspective Of Narratology

Talent Show is a television program through which participants with certain ability of "showing" can gain the chance of being a "superstar" by acting in accordance with established rules and they are shifted out by audience and judges From introduction of the earliest reality music Talent Show "Pop Idol" in our country in2004to the Talent Show, it booms the showing programs which depend on "dream". Talent Show shows us its strong vitality and promising development prospect with a rapid propagation speed and a soaring audience rating. And another important reason of its boom is the laws and disciplines of its internal creation and operation.In this paper, the internal law of show will be explored by studying the Talent Show from the respective of narratology and by using narratology related theory. The first part of the article is the research object what made a brief overview of the Talent Show in China, the characteristics and development situation of the analysis of narrative perspective. The second part of this paper analysis its general characteristics, the style and content trend of programs presented in recent years will be sorted out by analyzing the essential features and development tendency of such program. In the analysis of the narrative motif, I strive to the paper expounds the relationship between Talent Shows and traditional motif prototype. Through Cinderella Motif, Growth Motif and Competition Motif,study the inheritance and breakthrough of the narrative theme, narrative structure and narrative framework. The analysis of narrative motif and narrative elements will be stressed in the paper.And finally, narrative problems in Chinese Talent Show will be discussed and some certain advices will be given. It is expected that the paper can give the author of such program some references and guide audiences of the show, and even can help to perfect the program form, the localization and the innovative creation of program.
