Taking present situation into consideration， the theory of region image design needsperfection and formation of principles and methods of systematic and practical image design.This paper first illustrates the fact that city exists as the node of regional systematicstructure. Further investigation is carried out since cities have absolute dominance in regionaldevelopment. The theory of holism of Gestalt psychology is introduced to city imagetransmission. Butterfly effect exists in city image transmission， which not only spreadsthroughout the city image system， but also extends to region image design system.
