Automobile manufacturing industry is a typical owner-intensive high-techindustries. The car’s engine is also an integral part of the core of the car. Therefore,for these core tools, the higher utilization and the role of management, both improveproduction efficiency, shorten the production cycle, and also save the cost. In thefuture, professional processing will continue to improve. Tool type tend to accelerategrowth. Related information will become very complicated. Thus traditionalmanagement approach will be difficult to meet new market demands. Therefore, it isnecessary to develop a new type of tool management system. And the system musthave the following features and functions: automatic recognition of tools;tool warehouse management process accurate and efficient; assist users to toolselection; automatic communication between the equipments of the system.This paper mainly studies the following aspects:(1) Analysis the current situation of tool management systems at home andabroad and their software structure and main functions. The analysis of expertsystem of tool recommendation is focused on. Combined with the characteristicsof RFID identification technology RFID identify equipment is used as toolinformation carriers and transmission media.(2) Explore and set up the main function of the tool management system. Andthen designs the logic structure and the operation interface of tool managementsystem. by C language and the VC2005integrated development environment, SQLsever database software4major modules of the system are developed.(3) The production process of auto engine is analyzed. The cutting tools arecarried on the classification and coding. The structure and types of milling cuttersfocused on are researched. The cutting tool information classification and coding andstorage mechanisms are set up. Three levels of fitness function conclude basic fitnessfunction genes fitness function and total fitness function are designed. Each function and their weights are calculated by the method of fuzzy comprehensive.(4) Serial communication is realized by C language between the computerand the Balluff radio frequency identification equipment. Common serialcommunication is made. The serial port configuration by the requirements is set.CRC check is done. It is made that verification of the function the toolrecommendation module at the end.
