Mechanical virtual model system on mobile equipment is a comprehensive system, in which CAD modeling, virtual technology and three-dimensional display has been integrated. Its development is mainly in order to solve the problem that, three-dimensional modeling files can’t be displayed and interacted in mobile devices. Since currently, various kinds of mainstream three-dimensional CAD software has been widely used in mechanical industry, virtual technology has obtain great development, and mobile device has become more and more mature, To realize the model file display and interaction in mobile device not only helps to understand the mechanical parts and institution further, but also it has many advantages,such as at any time, convenient, good interactivty etc. and it can effectively reduce unnecessary mistake in the design and production. For virtual development on mobile devices also has important significance.The paper gives detailed analysis of the VRML file, which has been generated from some mainstream CAD software. Through the programming, on smart phone with Windows Mobile system, it has realized display and interaction of four kinds of model files’generated by UG, Pro/E, Solidworks and3DMax. Also gives research on mobile equipment’s mesh simplification algorithm, illumination models, texture mapping technology, and three-dimensional transformation, and put forward the face deleting algorithm based on the normal vector. It has realized the display of assembly on the smart phone, and with the movement display of four bar linkage, and has given realizing method and programming ideas. It also put forward solution of realizing sectional view on any position of the model on mobile devices.Finally, give overall design of virtual model system on mobile equipment, and provide design flow chart, key program sentences and corresponding effect pictures of key links of the development. On aspect of system’s function, it has realized search of VRML files, so as models’scale, translation, rotation, texture adding, illumination settings and so on. After repeated testing, it shows that the system can well realize models’display and interaction, and ultimately it has achieved the desired effect.
