The infrared ray has become more and more important in the military affairs, because of its strong penetrability and elusive detect, and it leads the development of infrared technology. As a branch of the infrared technology, infrared image synthesis technology is used to infrared guidance; make the testing and evaluating the seeker to become effective. As an important part of the infrared image synthesis technology, its reasonable design directly affects the whole system’s imaging uniformity, contrast, resolution. Based on the infrared scene generation technology comparison and selection, DMD (Digital Micro-mirror Devices) was eventually adopted as the scene generation device, and a dual field-of-view infrared optical system based on the seeker of the simulator is designed.The working principle of the DMD and the infrared seeker are introduced, as well as dynamic infrared scene projection system based on the DLP technology. And structure characteristics and design points of the dual field-of-view infrared optical system based on DMD are analyzed; telecentric light path used by the optical system and the relationship between each component is discussed to satisfy the system design scheme.Based on the dual field-of-view infrared optical system, a zoom system is used, and the theory of the zoom and zoom equation with Gauss solution are introduced, PW method is used to calculate the structural parameters of the components, then the optical software is used to structure data optimization. The MTF, spot radius and distortion were analyzed to evaluate the projection optical system. The results showed that the projection optical system met the design requirements.Finally, we discussed the tolerance of the projection optical system. Analysis showed that with relatively loose tolerances of tilt, decenter, thickness etc., this duel field projection optical system could still have a good imaging quality which means that the optical design is fairly good.
