People have put forward more and more requests for the sense of reality of the3D–virtual-model’s emotion expression along with the development of the computeranimation technology. The3D mouth animation is an important part of this field.According to the influence of Chinese coarticulation rules, paper has put forward amethod of text-driven synthesis of mouth animation based on Chinese coarticulationmodel, which makes the synthesis of mouth animation more smooth, more fluent, andmore close to real pronunciation of people. The work this paper has done is as follows:(1) Establish collaborative visualized model, reducing the influence ofcoarticulation when pronouncing Chinese continuously.(2) Using the definition of “neutral face” and “FDP” in MPEG-4to standardize the3D model. Establish the basic mouth library.(3) Synthesize mouth animation by continuous Chinese text. Achieve that the mouthshapes transit smoothly. The innovation of this paper is as follows:(1) Improve the collaborative visualized model based on Chinese. Firstly, add theattribute of “influence level” and “influenced level” for different primitives, and improvethe method of re-clustering the initials and finals by comprehensively considering themouth pronouncing posture. Secondly, extra consider the interaction of finals in adjacentsyllables and establish the Chinese collaborative visualized model, which improves theexpressing ability of the model.(2) A method of synthesis of mouth animation driven by continuous Chinese text isproposed. Use the improving collaborative-visualized-model to optimize all the enteredpronouncing phonemes and output the new mouth sequences. Synthesize smoothtransitional mouth animation by improving the control of transition frames generated byinterpolation.Experiments show that the method of this method can be used to synthesize natural and smooth mouth animation, and the method can fully simulate the changing of mouthinfluenced by Chinese coarticulation. Chinese text-driven realistic mouth animation hasbroad application prospects in the fields of film and television, game, social life andeducation.
