Research On Fan Jingyi’s Journalistic Practice And News Concept

Fan Jingyi, a famous journalist in the present age of our country, started to work as a journalism in1951. Throughout his career, he worked sequencely as a vice-chief editor of Liaoning Daily Newspaper, a chief editor of Economic Daily and Renmin Daily Newspaper, finally as the headmaster of News and Communication College of Tsinghu University. He dedicated himself as a journalist for half a century. Amazingly, the up-and-down life experience and rich practice in the area of news provided the cornerstone for the formation of his concept. The author hoped to summarize his excellent news concept in his career through classifying the different stage of practical course in the area of news and combing with analysis of his original papers.Fan Jingyi’s news concept could be summarized as the following four aspects, conception of news editing, conception of gathering and writing, conception of public media guidance, conception of journalistic education. Since the period as the editor-in-chief in Economic Daily newspaper, he was called the "the king of new idea". He insisted on writing duty diary every night in the time of Renmin Daily newspaper, which was gathered and published as a prestigious composition-the chief editor’s handbook. Fan Jingyi’s editing concept emphasized the work style in flexible way, the personalized settings of the title, the visual view with great pictures and comments and the concept of freemasonry with common people. The highlighting characters of his opinion of news writing could be listed as follows:fresh and fast time, novel and vivid content, deep in thought and unique in writing. During the period of the Renmin Daily newspaper, Fan Jingyi thought that the development of party newspaper should have the responsibility to guide public opinion with the attitude of macro. Moreover, the responsibilities not only included the principle-"grasp the overall situation, correctly guide", but also included specific methods combining with positive propaganda and construction of consciousness, insisting on the intervention strategies of guide with responsibility, mothod and principle. After retirement from frontline of news education, in the face of the ever-changing media development situation and new era of news talent demand, he fumbled for a new education concept guided by the marxist concept and theory and practice of unity, combining with the talents cultivation idea according to their aptitudes.Fan Jingyi’s concept of news was affected by the traditional thought of news and diversity of practice experience, and its formation had a intimate connection with the social ideology, even with the news media development.
