With increasing demand for video surveillance, embedded video monitoring systems have been applied widely. Nowadays, ARM and DSP are the two main kinds of embedded video collecting system. The new generation of CORTEX-A8processor S5PV210of SAMSUNG includes powerful hardware accelerators for tasks and an integrated Multi Format Code. It can take video signals to high-speed processing and compressing, support the Linux operating system. We can design high performance, low cost, small size and low power video capturing system.Considering present situation of video monitor fore-end, an IP Camera is designed based on S5PV210processor platform and embedded Linux system. The software architecture, the overall hardware and software modules are described. UML language is used to describe multimedia architecture basing on Linux3.8and the design of application layer. In order to achieve high-speed of data processing, the design of shared memory realize FIMC driver exchange data with the MFC driver, meanwhile it meets the high-definition images and high frame rate compression processing requirements. First of all, system obtains image from500-megapixel CMOS camera of OV5642, Secondly encode H.264video compression format and pack RTP/RTCP protocol for network transmission, Finally decoded and play by the PC software. The design of the system has been tested that the camera imaging, network transmission, and playback speed reaches1080p*25fbs. The system is stable, with clear image quality, satisfying the security surveillance applications.
