| The core issue of the paper is how the mass media which is the main channel for people to obtain historical memory construct history and influence people’s collective memory. The study is based on collective memorizing theory and frame theory to answer a specific problem how the people’s Daily construct collective memory of the Republic of China with textual analysis and content analysis.The article analyzes the reports of the Republic of China on People’s Daily in these four aspects:presentation form, the way of reporting, the main types and characteristics of the memory and media strategies. The first, presentation form, this part summarize five areas:columns, diversified symbolic, figures reported, documentary genre, integrity and independence. Columns reflect the People’s Daily on the use of history of the republic of China is the monumental news. The second, the way of reporting sums up the five ways:evoking memory type, historical reflection type, personal remembrance type, mining news type. From this analysis, we find the motivation for historical reports is ruling class needs and collective identity. The third part analyzes main types and features about collective memory of the Republic of China. This chapter summarizes the12major types of memory of the Republic of China. The features are duality and symbolization. The Republic of memory is revolutionary memory and the Communist Party is the main core memory subject. The fourth analyzes construction strategies of the People’s Daily. This part summarizes three construction strategies of "focus and repeat","stigma and divinity" and "suppression and avoidance". And it also summarizes five publicity strategies:"The complaint with the attack"" Definition"," recognition and praise,"" statement of fact"," expressing emotion"," reflection and repentance."Final conclusion:Memory of the Republic of China is affected not only by political power, but also by historical inertia.
