With the progress of society and technology, people’s living standards has been greatly improved. However, the cardiovascular disease has seriously affected people’s health with its increasing incidence. Heart diseases often happen suddenly and are with high fatalness. In order to detect the illness in time, people need conduct effective monitoring on the patients suffered from heart diseases. Current domestic ECG monitors are very expensive and mostly used in hospitals. Therefore patients are confined to the hospitals. For this reason, it is imperative to develop a portable ECG monitor, which can monitor patient’s ECG information to master it timely and effectively.The paper mainly introduces that through using bluetooth technology in ECG monitoring system, to make a lot of ECG signal data become wireless transmission. The portable ECG monitor can effectively record the patient’s ECG physiological parameters in time, at the same time, it can also wirelessly transmit the data to a nearby computer or remote monitoring center for analyzing and processing, which greatly saves the time and cost, reduces consumption and improves the monitoring efficiency.This article mainly studies the compression and transmission of ECG data. In ECG data compression aspect, based on the study of ECG data compression method and research status used in electrical data compression algorithm at home and abroad, the discrete cosine transform (DCT) algorithm is used in ECG signal compression, it’s showed that high compression ratio and fidelity can be achieved, which facilitate large amounts of ECG data storage, analysis and transmission, greatly improves the ECG signal transmission speed, and saves time cost; In ECG data transmission aspect, with the use of USB interface on S3C2410development board to extend a bluetooth adapter, this article analyzes the bluetooth protocol stack BlueZ, transplants BlueZ to create the bluetooth device driver on development board. Finally, after amplifying and filtering the ECG signal collecting from data acquisition module, using bluetooth module to sent the ECG signal that meets the frequency to S3C2410development board, which will process, analyze and display ECG signal. By testing this system, it’s showed that using bluetooth technology in the medical monitoring system is feasible, and with good prospect.
