Now, the optical Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) has been recognized as the most effective method for the evaluation of the image quality. In optoelectronic system, the factors affecting of image quality are mainly various aberrations, but when the optoelectronic system are sighting the target, the vibration of optoelectronic system’s carrier has replaced the aberrations and diffraction of the optical system itself, and became for the main factors of the definition and the role of distance. So the optoelectronic system need under motion condition to measure its MTF, therefore this parameter is referred to as Dynamic Modulation Transfer Function (DMTF).This paper not only discusses the methods and principles of the calculation and measurement about optical transfer function, but also analyzes the strength and weakness of current DMTF measuring method, and the design philosophy of the whole link which runs through it, and proposed a new approach which can simulate motion carrier of the optoelectronic imaging system to measure DMTF value, and ultimately get the relationship between the DMTF and the role of the distance systems. The thesis research work includes the following several parts:Firstly, through researching and analyzing the measurement principle of the MTF, and analyzes the main effects of imaging quality for motion of optoelectronic system’s carrier. From a static point of view, derived the formula of DMTF under different forms of movement, the final it will be extended to any form like moving.Secondly, through design ideas of the system whole link, so that the MTF chain has become the main chain of the overall performance evaluation for the television sighting system, in this article presented an overall design which can test the DMTF of optoelectronic imaging system. The method is to make a rectangular target as a target, let the optoelectronic imaging system fix to the vibration table, and use the vibration table to simulate a variety of sports status, the collected target images through computer software to process to obtain DMTF curves.Thirdly, the DMTF have been measured experiments and analyzed theoretical under different motion conditions including imaging system’s high-frequency and low-frequency vibration, and use the software processing of the image for further analysis. The main parameters affecting the DMTF have been determined. They are vibration frequency, vibration amplitude, and integration time of imaging systems.Fourthly, to propose the stabilization precision and research the main factors about its, the concept of system stabilization has been put forward, and in-depth study the relationship between the DMTF and the sight distance, to establish the functional relationship, and research the relationship between the DMTF and the sight distance under different movement conditions and different weather conditions, which offer the theoretical basis and methods for designing sight distance.
