The rapid development of rose the amount of applications based on the VANETS.Due to the specificity of VANETS and the vehicle environment, the application underdifferent networks would show different application performance. Other articles haddistinguished those applications into five classes. This article firstly chosen somerepresentative applications, like Traffic light phase on intersection、 V2Icommunications、collision avoidance、collision avoidance on intersection like’T’anddistributed downloading. Then Stand the Location of protocol stack and find theobjective laws of the applications with different measurement criteria in three levels(Application Level, Facilities Level, Network&Transport Level). The Application Level responses the logic of the communication, such as, Httpprotocol can be accomplished in this level. In this Level, the article analyzes the effectsof the packet sending frequency, the packet arriving delay and the packet loss rate.Through theoretical analysis of the experimental application layer, we get theconclusion that the most influential factor on the application of packet transmissionfrequency. Based on the importance of the frequency in the VANETS, this article madesome analysis with the1069.4standard.The Facilities is functional level called middle level also. This level providesservice to application. In Facilities Level, some parameters are no relations toapplications. this article raised three measurement performances: IRT (packet interreception time), Awareness Quality and Update Delay. The facilities measurementcriteria of the above five kinds’applications were analyzed.Network&Transport contains the Network and the Transport of the traditionalnetwork stack. In this level, TCP and UDP can be expanded. The article analyzed thedelay and throughput of the above five applications.Through making models and analyzing the measurement criteria of differences, this article obtained the characters of different applications, in different lays. It can providereferences for designer of the protocol for VANETS’ application and make sure thatperformances of application and network are best.
