With the development of national economy and social life level, the demand of aluminum consumption improved constantly, the scale of aluminum producing is expanded constantly and aluminum producing technology innovated continuously. Currently, pre-baked cell is mainly used to produce aluminum, for keeping the aluminum electrolyte in molten state, a large part of electric energy are transformed into heat energy. Therefore, the temperature of the electrolytic cell must be slightly higher than the primary crystal temperature of the aluminum electrolyte temperature of the electrolytic cell was maintained by the electric power, and high electric power consumption cost was the main concern in aluminum electrolysis industry. In order to keep the electrolytic cell in a suitable temperature, it’s imperative that measure the primary crystal temperature of the aluminum for saving the electric power consumption.To meet the production requirements about measurement of the primary crystal temperature in real-time in the industry, combined the research results of the technology of embedded system and FPGA technology, this subject implemented the on-line primary crystal temperature real-time detection system. In this system, the primary analog voltage signal is converted from thermocouple, this analog signal via filter and differential input amplifier. Then, the voltage signal transforms into digital signal after A/D converter, the digital signal data is transmitted and stored in the buffers of FPGA in serial mode, and FPGA send these data to OMAP3530with the GPMC bus. Finally, these data will be displayed on LCD in real-time and the primary crystal temperature point is computed and showed.This paper gives the design scheme of the architecture of this system following researched the technology of embedded system and FPGA technology. This project focuses on the implementing of data communication between OMAP3530and AD that is controlled by FPGA, including the design of FPGA programming and FPGA driver based on embedded Linux. Then verifies the FPGA programming and FPGA driver through programming the tests, and analysis the results of them to proving the temperature data acquisition of this system is valid and realtime. The last part of this paper, the conclusion of the main work and the performance optimization is given.
