Currently, the development of wireless communication technology is the fastest and the most widely technology in the field of communication. The wide application of wireless communication technology make our lives more convenient and rich. Among the relative knowledge of wireless communication system, it is significant to research wireless communication technology that we understand the characteristics of wireless channel. A unique characteristic in a wireless channel is a phenomenon called’fading’, the variation of the signal amplitude over time and frequency. The fading brings the enormous influence on wireless channel and restricts the property of the wireless communication system. The fading phenomenon can be broadly classified into two different types:large-scale fading and small-scale fading, and the shadow fading is an important part of large-scale fading. Therefore, the resesrch of shadow fading has great significance in improving the performance of the wireless communication. This article researches on the shadow fading channel. In addition, the typical shadow fading channel be modeled and analyzed. The main content of this article can be summarized as follows:Part1. The major research is the shadow fading of instation single-cell, introduced several shadow fading model. Including Log-normal shadowing path loss model, knife-edge diffraction model, multiple knife-edge diffraction model, and simple building shadowing model. Part2. This part studies the correlation of shadow fading channel. Introduce the concept of correlation and some typical models. Including the gudmundson correlation model, the gaussian correlation model and the butterworth correlation model.Part3. Introduced the concept of the correlation between two base stations, typical model will be briefly modeling and analyzed in this part. Including the simple street model.correlated shadowing series and the sφrensen model.
