| With the development of the automobile industry, the timing silent chain systemhas been more and more widely used, and has a broad market prospect. However,comparing the chain performance at high speed shows that the chain made in ourcountry does not as good as the chain from overseas, thus, most domestic enginemakers adopted the foreign products,which has seriously hampered the developmentof domestic brands. To improve the ability of timing chain system design andmanufacture, timing chain system’s working characteristic and developing methodshould be investigated meticulously. In addition, with the development of thecomputer technology, CAD and CAE technology had used widely in the industry. Forthe timing chain system, engineers can use the software which were mature in themarket to analysis the developed timing chain system, and evaluate the developedsystem by the analysis results. But at present, there hasn’t a software can design thetiming chain system, for different timing chain system has different layouts andworking under different conditions, so design a timing chain system is a difficult thing.So, research the design methods about timing chain system and master the keytechnology of digital design methods and develop the software which could aid thedesign of timing chain system, has important practical significance.This paper is supported by science and technology major planning project of Jilinprovince-The Key Technique Research on The Modern Gasoline Engine TimingChain System. Based on the analysis of the current research situation, the digitaldesign methods on the timing silent chain system is studied and developed thesoftware used in the industrial for the digital design of the timing silent chain system.Firstly, this paper explained how engine works and the valve timing process,show the timing chain system plays an important role in the engine. Then showedseveral common timing chain system layout forms and illustrated all the parts andtheir functions in a timing silent chain system. Summarized the common failure forms,discussed the evaluation methods of timing silent chain system. In the subject of system development, according to the meshing theory, based on the traditional designmethod, the main design parameters concerned has been analyzed in detail, anddiscussed the influence of these parameters on the system performance, strengthenedthe theoretical basis for system development and lastly summarized the digital designmethods, developed the software used for timing silent chain design. Using thesoftware can deal with the various forms of the layout design of the timing silentchain system. Combined with the understanding of the dynamic analysis softwareRecurDyn, some redevelopment has done so when engineer used the RecurDynsoftware to analysis the dynamic characteristics of the system, it can assemble thechain and constrains the model automatically, which could reduce the amount ofmodeling time.The work done by this paper is an exploration on the research of the digitaldesign method of timing silent chain system, the research results have significanttheoretical and practical value to achieve with the design and development of silenttiming chain system of proprietary. |
