Study On The Performance Evaluation Of Chinese Securities Investment Fund

Since the fund appeared in China in1998, from the closed-end funds to open-end funds,the number and scale of China’s open-end funds have reached a new peak through15years’development. At present, the fund industry is an important part of China’s securities market, it isone of the most important issues how to make the fund industry play a better role in the capitalmarket. Moreover, along with the improvement of China’s market economy system, it is anotherimportant issue how to make the fund industry gain more healthy and rapid growth.This paper introduces the Chinese open-end securities investment funds from four parts.The first part is a overview of the development of domestic and foreign fund industry andtheoretical methods, the second part studies the performance evaluation of funds by applyingtraditional and innovative performance evaluation methods, the third part carries outcomprehensive performance evaluation of China’s open-end securities investment funds by usingfour kinds of methods in comprehensive evaluation, the last part offers relevant policyrecommendations to fund companies, investors and Securities Regulatory Commission accordingto the performance evaluation results.
