Credit card as the primary means of electronic payments in the future, to promoteconsumption, improve payment security and convenience plays a very important role. Inrecent years, the credit card to enter a stage of rapid development, the major banks havetaken various measures to increase market share Generally speaking, however, our creditcard is still at the early stages of development, the difference in attitudes, the imperfectlegal system management system immaturity and many other reasons, makes businessabroad as an important means of profit of banks in China may face comprehensive loss.How to efficiently manage the costs and benefits of the credit card, and the urgent need toaddress the problem of banks.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part introduces the background andsignificance of this study, the analysis of the research status quo. The second sectiondescribes the basic theory of the credit card-the theory of consumer credit, credit cardbasics, including credit card definition, function, and other credit card-related concepts,and also introduced the origins and development of the situation in the world of creditcards, Finally, expounded the basic concepts of the profit model. The third sectiondescribes the status of the development of China’s credit card business, the combination ofthe actual building of the costs and benefits of the credit card business model, the use ofthe model, and on the basis of analyzing the model variables K Bank’s cost-benefitsituation, looking for the main factors leading to its credit card business income is not high.The fourth part of the development of the credit card business in the United States andJapan, the American Express credit card business profit model, pointing out that itsreferential significance to the development of China’s credit card business. The fifth part ofthe selected the government issuing bank angle, and recommendations to improve theplight of the credit card business profitability.
