This stage, Guangxi is in an important period of economic and social development, accelerate urbanization leaps and bounds for the the Guangxi economic development and social progress is becoming increasingly important to study the interaction between urbanization and economic growth is very significance and is very necessary.The article is mainly the use of econometric theory and methods, the first cointegration test and found that both the coordinated development of the relationship between two variables urbanization rate and GDP per capita;followed by the Granger causality test, found that economic growth can promote the development of urbanization, on the contrary, the effect is not obvious; through the establishment of vector auto-regression analysis found that the empirical results basically consistent with the Granger test.Economic growth can promote urbanization analysis of the reasons may be:Economic growth has stimulated the increase of farmers’ income and consumption levels to promote the process of urbanization needs and changes in the structure of employment; urban-rural dual structure is characterized by highly unbalanced development, urban farmers have hugeattractive; looser household registration management policies, changes in the structure and enterprise in the three industries under the effect of the size of the cities gathered to urban migration and other factors can promote the urbanization rate rise. Urbanization has failed to effectively promote economic growth The reason may be:the the Guangxi urban system structure is unreasonable, the division of urban and rural household registration system, the lack of long-term urban planning, urban management unscientific, backward infrastructure, land use is low,promote the urbanization narrow channels.
