After the financial crisis in2008, financial instruments standards has become a hot topic related to financial supervision and financial stability. It has become a common goal for the national financial regulatory agencies and standard-setting bodies to simplify the accounting measurement of financial instruments. IASB devotes itself to creating a global unified, high quality accounting standards. In order to simplify the accounting standards of financial instruments, IASB manage to replace the original IAS NO.39with the new IFRS NO.9. The construction of IFRS NO.9is divided into the following three stages, which is the classification and measurement of financial instruments, impairment of financial assets and the hedging accounting.Accounting standards, as a kind of institutional arrangements and accounting behavior regulation, has economic consequences. In order to get the potential influence of IFRS NO.9’s application in China, the paper summarized the trend of financial instruments standards since2008. The paper tried to discuss the problem in three aspects: classification and measurement of financial instruments, impairment of financial assets and the hedging accounting problems. This article selects8A+H listed commercial bank, analyses its annual report of2012according to the new IFRS NO.9. The classification and measurement of financial instruments, impairment of financial assets and hedge accounting are analyzed; some opinions and suggestions are put forward based on the results of the study.The paper can be divided into the following sections:Part One:introduction. This section mainly introduced the background and research significance of the research. The research at home and abroad is reviewed in this part. It introduced the overall train of thought and specific research methods, research focus, difficulties and innovations.Part Two:introduction of financial instruments standards and theoretical basis. Defined the specific content of the financial instruments and financial instruments standards, introduced the nature and the economic consequences of accounting standards, and briefly introduced the international financial reporting standards and China’s accounting standards on financial instruments.Part Three: introduced the progress and review of current financial instruments in IFRS. The plan of IASB on the classification and measurement of financial instruments, impairment of financial assets and hedge accounting are traced and reviewed.Part Four: the influence of financial instruments concerned IFRS on commercial banks in china. We analyzed the content of IFRS NO.9through three aspects to get the potential influence on the listed A+H commercial banks of China.Part Five:conclusion and suggestion. Introduced the conclusion of the paper, and pointed out some guidelines for the institutions to make accounting standards, financial regulators and listed commercial banks, based on the results of the study. We summarized the shortcomings of the research and future directions in the part.
