Consumption is an important part of economy. Personal consumption has asignificant place in the overall economic activities, and can even change the market.All the time, Unreasonable consumption is exist in our society. Consumers need totake responsibilities are ignored. In view of this, the issues of responsibleconsumption are necessary.The thesis uses Historical materialism and dialectical materialism from Marxistthought as guideline. The research begins from the long history of responsibleconsumption and contemporary Responsible Consumption status.It also analyzedthe concept of responsible consumption and Responsible Consumption in promotingfair trade, narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor and to achieve sustainabledevelopment. It advocates that we need to cultivate awareness of personalresponsibility in our daily life.The first chapter introduces the main ideas and innovations on the responsibility forconsumer issues raised at home and abroad in this field such as research methods andideas as well as articles. Although many scholar have done research from economics,sociology, ethics and in relation to responsible consumption. The research is stillvague and is not involved a series of problems. I have conducted the comprehensivesystem research. The second charter theoretically discussed the necessity and feasibility ofResponsible Consumption. It deemed that the emergence of responsible consumptionhas objective and subjective reasons, such as the scarcity of resources and theproduction and consumption relations conversion. With the solution of the livingconditions, people began to pursue a higher level of demand. People can update theconcept of consumption into charity. It reflects the personal ethical consumptionactivities.The third chapter is the empirical analysis on the responsibility for consumer issues.It introduces the reason of responsible consumption in the world and the definition ofthe concept of responsible consumption. The thesis also introduces some typicalexample in developed countries to show the intrinsic link between the consumption ofpersonal responsibility and real life, and highlights the importance of responsibleconsumption.The fourth chapter discusses the problems and challenges faced by the responsibleconsumption. It Points out it is difficulty to cultivate consumer awareness onresponsible consumption and remove the obstacles in practice. The consumers don’tknow how to switch their role between Economic and moral dilemma. Enterprises donot know how to deal with responsible consumption.The last chapter concludes responsible consumption is not a utopia. Responsibleconsumption is the inevitable choice in the consumption process in the future, withthe development of the productive forces, people’s living standards improved,sustainable development intrinsically linked. When we combine personalconsumption with a sense of responsibility, it will play an important part forindividuals, others, society and nature. Finally, it will achieve harmoniousdevelopment between man and man, man and nature, man and society.
