Chinese Private Enterprises’s Political Association And Its Impacts

Private enterprises have been developing really fast ever since the1990th,bringing about enormous changes to economic life and gradually being recognized asthe significant component in national economy of China. From the very beginning,the private enterprises of China bore huge political and economic duties and obtainedstrong and powerful political drives of the government, which has been playingessential role in different stages of development. It is meaningful and of theoreticalvalues to analyze the development, political pursuit, approaches of political influenceand its effects, and the impacts on democratic and political construction of China fromthe perspective of political impact.This dissertation consists of six chapters:Chapter I Introduction mainly discusses the origin of this study and its meaning.What is more, related national and international papers have been reviewed and thebasic frame of the dissertation has been decided.Chapter II describes the necessity for private enterprises to construct politicalconnections. The micro layer of enterprises and the macro layer of national domesticand political construction have been unveiled from the dual political logic of privateenterprises.Chapter III talks about the major approaches of political connections of privateenterprises, studying political connections between private enterprises and thegovernment via party construction, institutionalized and non-institutionalized politicalparticipation, and the functions and approaches of civilian chamber of commerce inconstructing political connections of private enterprises.Chapter VI analyzes the impacts private enterprises on political connections.According to research, the advantages of political connection are driving gradualreform smoothly, renovating the organizing form and working mechanism ofdemocratic political construction, cultivating civilians to participate in politics morepositively and strengthening a service-oriented government. The disadvantagescontain eroding public power, corrupting civil servants, changing the structure ofpublic power, threatening political stability, and causing the conflicts betweenself-interest principle and public interest principle, thus leading to social issues.In Chapter V, the approach, method, behavior and mechanism in building thenew pattern of political connections of private enterprises are discussed.Chapter VI is made up of conclusion and outlook. The author thinks that thesurvival and development of private enterprises need government’s assistance. Thepolitical connection is crucial to the survival of private enterprises, which hasbi-directional influence on national democratic political construction. As aconsequence, it is a must to construct the new pattern of political connections ofprivate enterprises, reaching a win-win strategy between the development ofenterprises and the democratic political construction.
