There is close connection between technology gap and economic growth, FDI spillover effects and technology absorption capacity. The Measurement of industrial technology gap between China and developed countries has a theoretical significance on the study of industrial growth, technological progress, technology spillover, technology absorption. The Measurement of industrial technology gap between China and developed countries also has practical significance on international trade patterns of China. Two model of data envelopment analysis method are used in this literature, and we measure industrial technology gap between China and developed countries from input-oriented DEA and output-oriented DEA. Input variables are capital stock volume and employees, output variable is value added volume, period is from1993to2009. changes in the technology gap can be divided into three stage:the first stage is from1993to1999, the overall trend of the technology gap was enlarged; the second stage is from2000to2005, China was catching up with developed countries’frontier technology; the third stage is from2005to2009, China has become one of the technology frontier technology countries. Joining the WTO, opening trade policy, economic reforming and the more education contributed to the narrowing of the technology gap.
