The increasing challenges companies of all sizes are facing–stagnating markets,accelerated technological innovation, and the internationalization of competition–areplacing more sophisticated demands on information technology (IT). In order to provide anappropriate, flexible, and cost-effective range of functions, it is necessary to continuallyoptimize the implementation methodology as well as the IT application portfolio. AlthoughSAP R/3has become widely utilized as a means to change IT systems and businessprocesses, not all organizations embarking on its implementation have achieved theirintended results. However, leading practices have demonstrated that success is essentiallyconditional on managing adequately the complex context of implementation, whichnecessitates organizational changes across various key areas related to strategy, businessprocesses, IT, structure, culture, and management systems. The purpose of this paper is toinvestigate possible reasons for enterprise resource planning (ERP) system-SAPcustomization in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a particular focus ondistinguishing influential factors of the SME context, SAP corresponds to these challengesby systematically recording data pertaining to implementation experiences and making itavailable to its customers and partners.‘SAP Best Practices’ are part of this offering.SAP Best Practices consist of technical and business documentation for centralbusiness scenarios within a sector or a functional application area, such as CustomerRelationship Management. Also available are executable pre-configurations tailored to theparticular area and a methodology for pragmatic and effective application over the entirelife cycle. SAP business partners can leverage SAP Best Practices as a platform fordeveloping SAP All-in-One solutions. At the same time, SAP Best Practices are used incompanies of all sizes to accelerate decision-making processes and implementationprojects. Using comparable systematic, this benchmarking study determines the effect thedeployment of SAP Best Practices has on project success, in terms of time, cost andquality.This paper describes a proposed model&solution presenting the implementation of SAP R/3Best practice from an integrative and holistic perspective. The model is developedbased on my experiences of two organizations which implemented SAP Best Practice. Thecentral argument of the paper is that at the heart of effective SAP R/3implementation, afully balanced perspective has to be taken. On the other hand, the exclusive focus ontechnical aspects, at the cost of change management elements, has proved to be far fromsuccessful. In describing the enormous benefits that the SAP software can bring toorganizations, In this paper, we will take two SMEs companies in different industries as thestudying case, with utilizing SAP Best Practices package and methodology, By analyzingthe successful experience of implementing ERP with the critical constraints, The researchshould help the SMEs to successfully launch ERP with the great benefits.
