Development Strategy Of Shanghai Pudong Airport Logistics Park Studies

With the economic globalization and the rapid development of modern logisticsindustry, air cargo has become an important part of modern logistics. Air logistics mainlysupported by air cargo has also entered into a stage of rapid development. The demand forair cargo of all kinds of enterprises is increasing. Air logistics industry is becoming the newincreasing point of the economic development in the airport area and also the constructionand development of the airport logistics park plays an important role in promoting urbandevelopment and air cargo.According to Shanghai “Two Central” construction issued by the State Council, bringthe construction of Shanghai aviation hub into the international shipping centerconstruction system and make clear the goal of the “international aviation hub” basicallycompleted in2020. The construction of Shanghai aviation hub is an important part of thestrengthening strategy of China civil aviation. In June2010, according to The YangtzeRiver Delta Regional Plan published by the National Development and ReformCommission calls for the construction of Shanghai aviation hub, with a focus on expandingairport facilities, optimizing air transport network as the main line, improving internationalcompetitiveness as the goal, strengthening the construction of facilities, improving transitcapacity and developing into a major hub of the international aviation network. Accordingto “the12th Five-Year Plan” of Shanghai civil aviation development goal, PudongInternational Airport will be built into the international hub with the strong competitiveness,the core hub of the Asia-Pacific region and the international air cargo hub ranking the firstin the world, which puts higher requirement on the construction of the cargo hub ofPudong International Airport.As the key point of the construction of the international air cargo hub of PudongInternational Airport, speeding up the development of Shanghai Pudong Airport logisticsPark is urgent. How to study and develop the development strategy of Shanghai PudongAirport logistics Park and to achieve the efficiency of goods operation and the improvingof the quality, to enhance the radiation capacity of Shanghai airport logistics and the gathering capacity of international goods supply is the key factor to Pudong InternationalAirport to upgrade integrated competition capacity, speed up the construction pace ofinternational aviation freight hub airport and to early achieve “the12th Five-Year Plan” ofShanghai civil aviation development goal.Based on the learning from the development experience of the airport logistics parkboth at home and abroad, this paper use the understanding and application of thetheoretical knowledge of strategy management, enterprise core competitiveness anddiversification strategy and also the rational thinking on the current situation of ShanghaiPudong Airport logistics Park, and using SWOT analysis combined with PEST analysisand Porter Five Forces Model and other strategic research methods in order tocomprehensively analyze the advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and threats ofthe development of Shanghai Airport logistics Park. After finding the entry point of thestrategy countermeasures research, this paper put forward the strategies of makingintegration, efficient industrial competition and co-operation and personalized customerservice and also the specific implementation methods in the theoretical and practical wayso as to further make clear the development ideas of Shanghai Pudong Airport logisticsPark, helping to better and faster the development of Airport Logistics Park and the earlyrealization of the development goal of the international air cargo hub ranking first in theworld.
